Financial Aid Information

To secure financial aid (including various student loans) you are required to employ a separate application procedure that is handled exclusively through the Office of Financial Aid at Duquesne University.

All Principal Network candidates are eligible for low interest financial aid if they
take at least 4 1/2 credits per semester. Normally, candidates in the program will
be registered for at least 6 credits per semester. It is important to note, however, that candidates seeking advance standing for coursework may not be eligible for
the lowest interest rates on their financial aid during semesters when their advance standing will bring their course load below the required 4 1/2 credits. Instead, those candidates will be eligible for a higher interest loan.

To inquire about financial assistance and the financial assistance process,
contact the Office of Financial Aid at 412.396.6607.

Discounted Tuition Programs:

The Office of Financial Aid also administers several discounted tuition programs
as indicated below:

Clergy-Religious Discount
Members of University-recognized Christian and Jewish religions who have been ordained or professed are eligible to enroll with benefit of a 50% reduction of basic tuition costs. Restrictions stated above apply to this discount.

Senior Citizen Discount
Individuals who are 60 years of age or older may enroll with benefit of a 50% reduction of basic tuition costs. Restrictions stated above apply to this discount.

Catholic School Lay Teacher Discount
Current full-time teaching employees in Catholic schools in Pittsburgh,
Greensburg, or Altoona-Johnstown Dioceses who have completed a minimum
of two years of full-time teaching in an approved diocesan school are eligible to enroll with benefit of a 50% reduction of basic tuition costs. Restrictions stated above apply to this discount.

Lay Minister Discount
Individuals employed as ministers within the Roman Catholic Diocese of Pittsburgh as Pastoral Associates, Professional Youth Ministers, Parish Social Ministers and Campus Ministers are eligible to enroll with benefit of a 50% reduction of basic-rate tuition costs. Eligibility must be verified by the Institute for Ministers of the Diocese of Pittsburgh.

Candidates who qualify for one of the conditions described above may receive
a discount of one-half (50%) basic tuition.

The candidate is responsible for payment of all fees and one-half tuition. Only one degree or part thereof may be earned utilizing any one of these discounts, and no other form of discount or tuition remission may be received simultaneously.

Applications for each program are available through, and must be filed with, the Office of Financial Aid.

Questions regarding eligibility and requests for applications should be directed to the Office of Financial Aid.
